Vatican Museum and St. Peter’s Basilica

The Vatican Museums are considered the most important museums of the world. The tour will lead you to the most significant areas of the Museums, for example the famous Raphael’s Rooms and Michaelangelo’s masterwork: the Sistine Chapel. We will then proceed to St. Peter’s Basilica, where you will see Michaelangelo’s Pietà and Bernini’s canopy. The tour will end in St. Peter’s square where you will admire St. Peter’s Façade and Bernini’s famous Colonnade.

The cost of the guided tour does not include admission ticket to the Vatican Museum (€20).
Ticket pre-booking is essential to avoid long queues to enter the Museums.

Info about Vatican Museum and St. Peter’s Basilica

The Vatican Museums are the museums of the Vatican City and are located within the city’s boundaries. They display works from the immense collection built up by the Popes throughout the centuries including some of the most renowned classical sculptures and most important masterpieces of Renaissance art in the world.

Pope Julius II founded the museums in the early 16th century. The Sistine Chapel with its ceiling decorated by Michelangelo and the Stanze di Raffaello decorated by Raffaello are on the visitor route through the Vatican Museums. Now they are visited by over 6 million people, which combined makes it one of most visited art museum in the world.

There are 54 galleries, or sale, in total, with the Sistine Chapel, notably, being the very last sala within the Museum. It is one of the largest museums in the world.
